The Irish Astronomical Society’s Christmas gathering is coming around again, this year in a
new and enhanced format and in co-0peration with University College Dublin.
Again, we are delighted to have Dr. Antonio Martin Carrillo, UCD Ad Astra fellow /Assistant
Professor in the School of Physics, as our guest speaker. (It has become a bit of a tradition
for Dr Antonio to give our Christmas Talk.)
The title of this talk is “Is the Hubble constant a true constant? 100 years of an expanding Universe”
Our Christmas lecture is traditionally just for I.A.S. Members and I.F.A.S.
members.
After the lecture UCD have provided us with a room where we can enjoy a friendly get
together, light refreshments and (Vals) mince pies.
We hope to run our fun astronomy quiz.
Also, there will be a free raffle for a telescope which has been kindly donated to the society.
Hoping to see you all at this traditional event.
